University police officers working at a fraternity party were called to the front yard of the Sigma Chi house, 1616 E. First St., at 12:57 a.m. Sunday after a fight broke out between Sigma Chi and Alpha Tau Omega members.Officers arrived to find a Sigma Chi member with a swollen cheek and a bloody nose lying motionless on the ground. Police reports indicate six males were holding back an Alpha Tau Omega member.
The fight reportedly broke out after an argument over the finances of the party, which was hosted jointly by the two fraternities.
The Alpha Tau Omega member reportedly punched the Sigma Chi member immediately before the fight broke out. An Alpha Tau Omega member was also hit in the head with a blunt instrument, police reports stated.
The victims were treated at the scene by Tucson Fire Department paramedics and released. There were no arrests in the case.
The injured Sigma Chi member later called police to say he would press charges if his assailant could be located. The member reportedly did not know the name of his attacker, but could identify him were he to see him again.
At the same party, five UA students were arrested on alcohol-related charges.
University police responded to two calls regarding "bad LSD trips" last weekend.
A male caller notified police at 12:53 a.m. Sunday about a female having a bad trip in the Highland Tunnel, 1400 E. Speedway Blvd.
Officers arrived and found her yelling that rats were going to get her, police reports stated.
She told police she had consumed two hits of LSD, and was transported to University Medical Center by Tucson Fire Department paramedics.
She was later released from UMC without giving a local address.
In a separate incident, two male students drove a female student to university police headquarters after they saw her walking naked in the area south of the intersection at East Speedway Boulevard and North Euclid Avenue.
Officers found the woman covered with a jacket in the back of the students' Chevrolet Blazer at 12:49 a.m. Sunday.
As officers were talking to her, she reportedly shed the jacket and climbed onto the roof of the truck, still wearing no clothes.
TFD paramedics arrived and transported her to UMC. She told them she had consumed "four hits of acid" at a party.
The student left UMC later that night without being officially released.
Officers responding to possible marijuana use at Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., found no evidence of drugs but did locate the missing "Wilbur Wildcat" suit.
A resident assistant reportedly found what he believed to be a piece of carpet in a hall elevator and recorded the find as such.
He later noticed the material had a tail, leading him to believe it was a "lion suit," police reports stated.
Officers found the costume lying behind the Coronado front desk at 9:55 p.m. Thursday.
Police reports indicate officers contacted athletic department officials who said they would claim the suit and return it to "Wilbur."
A female student called university police after she was verbally harassed while crossing the street at East Speedway Boulevard and North Park Avenue.
Police reports indicate three males in a brown Jeep reportedly yelled, "Are you a man or a woman?" and "Are you a dyke?" at the student as she crossed the street.
The men reportedly then threw a soda can at her as they drove through the intersection.
The student, who told police she is a lesbian, considers the incident a hate crime.
She reportedly did not record the vehicle's license number.
