A UA employee told police someone in a Chevrolet pick-up truck threw beer on his face at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of North Vine Avenue and East First Street.

The employee, who was driving home at the time, followed the truck to Kappa Sigma fraternity, 1616 E. First St., where the three male occupants exited the vehicle and ran toward the house.

The employee wrote down the license number and then notified police.

The truck's owner, a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, denied the allegations and said he had been driving alone that evening.

Because the victim could not identify a suspect, no charges will be filed.

A resident of Arizona-Sonora Hall, 910 E. Fifth St., was arrested at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday after he spat at a TFD firefighter.

Matthew D. Soltesz, 18, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and assault.

Police reports stated Soltesz consumed hallucinogenic mushrooms at a party Tuesday evening and was acting strangely. Another Arizona-Sonora resident called police, and officers arrived to find Soltesz lying naked on his bed. Although Soltesz showed no visible signs of being under the influence of hallucinogens, officers called Tucson Fire Department paramedics to check his health.

When firefighters arrived, Soltesz spat on an approaching firefighter's face and chest, then got up and "tried to grab or slap his face," police reports stated.

Police then placed Soltesz under arrest. He was transported to Kino Community Hospital, where he admitted eating mushrooms. Doctors then approved his health and he was taken to Pima County Jail.

A resident of Apache-Santa Cruz Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., called police Wednesday after someone gained unauthorized access to her campus computer account.

The student said over the past few months, she noticed some electronic mail she had not yet viewed listed as "read." She changed her password at 2 p.m. Wednesday and later discovered four unsuccessful log-on attempts from another room in her hall.

She told officers she suspects a male resident who has been romantically interested in her, police reports stated.

The victim said she would pursue the matter with Campus Computing and Information Technology and then follow up with police.

Someone stole a Pentium computer motherboard from the mail room of the Social Sciences building, 1145 E. South Campus Drive, sometime after 9:30 a.m. Feb. 26.

A UA employee said he was returning the motherboard to its manufacturer and dropped it off in the mail room at that time.

When a charge for the motherboard appeared on the employee's account, he discovered there was no record of the package ever being sent.

The motherboard is valued at $116.

A student called police Thursday after his entire 1992 Jeep Wrangler was spray-painted white between 2 and 8 a.m. Thursday.

The victim reportedly parked the vehicle north of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, 1050 N. Cherry Ave., and returned to find it vandalized.

The student told officers he suspects a former girlfriend in the incident.
