A former employee of the Department of Anesthesiology, 1621 E. Mabel St., came to the department's offices Tuesday and began shouting at a professor, police reports stated.The professor told the past employee to leave, but the suspect began insulting the university itself, police reports stated. The former employee left before officers arrived.
Police reports indicate the suspect had been terminated due to mental problems. The professor said he would press trespassing charges if the suspect returned.
The passenger-side window of a 1991 Jeep Cherokee was found shattered by officers patrolling McKale Garage, 1641 E. Enke Drive, Wednesday.
The officers also observed the dashboard was cracked and the stereo apparently missing.
The car's owner later called police to report the damage and the theft of a $420 Sony radio/compact disc player between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Someone stole numerous rented tables from the fenced-off Spring Fling site on the east end of the UA Mall Wednesday, police reports stated.
Spring Fling security personnel called police at 7:12 p.m. after seeing a Chevrolet truck leaving the site on East University Boulevard west of North Campbell Road with multiple fold-down tables on its bed. The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Campbell Avenue when four tables slid from the bed into the roadway. Spring Fling workers recovered the tables from the road.
Spring Fling employees told officers they believe the suspect driver works for the carnival providing rides and booths at the event.
Spring Fling employees said they will notify police if the truck returns.
A UA employee's Zone 1 parking permit was stolen from his 1971 Ford pickup between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The employee parked the vehicle in Lot 6097, which is northeast of Arizona Stadium, 1557 E. Sixth St., at 6:30 a.m. When the employee returned at 3:30 p.m., he found the passenger door unlocked and the permit gone.
