Dean of Fine Arts Maurice Sevigny was awarded the IL Magnifico Award for exceptional service and dedication to the college.

The award is given by the executive committee of the College of Fine Arts.

Sevigny came to the UA in 1991 and has created several annual awards to recognize achievements of students, faculty and staff.

He established the Braavissimo Award to recognize outstanding supporters of the college and the IL Magnifico Award.

In 1994, Sevigny established the Medici Circle, described as the giving club, to recognize donors of $1,000 or more to the College of Fine Arts.

Money raised through the Medici Circle supports the Dean's Fund for Excellence, funding special projects and grants available to students, faculty and staff.
