More Independence Day activities

The Tucson Toros play the Albuquerque Dukes at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and Friday at Hi Corbett Field, 3400 E. Camino Campestre. Approximately 20 minutes of fireworks will follow Friday's game.

Seat prices are $6 for box, $5 for reserved, $4 for general admission and $3 for children, students, military and seniors. Children under five are free.


Marana's SPORTSPARK, at West Ina Road and Interstate 10, is having its second annual Family Fun Day and Fireworks Show, beginning tomorrow at 4 p.m. Admission is $6 per car. Parking is free.

The day's events include live entertainment and a half-hour fireworks show.


The Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club, 4001 N. Country Club Road, opens its doors tomorrow at 5 p.m., honoring a 28-year-old Fourth of July tradition.

Adult admission is $8 and children under 12 are $3. Barbecued food, at an additional cost, will be served from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Around 8 p.m., an hour-long fireworks exhibition will begin.

Free shuttle service from Campbell Plaza to the club every half-hour will be provided by Wild West Promotions. Service begins at 7:30 p.m. at the northwest corner of North Campbell Avenue and East Glenn Street.


Most of the UA will be closed over the holiday break. However, the Student Union will be open.

The "A" Place will be open tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Weekend Grill at Cafe Sonora and Taco Bell Express will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Mexican Restaurant will also be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this weekend.


A screening of VideoGLORY, part of an annual video series put on by the UA Fi Arts Department, will be in the Modern Languages Auditorium tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.

Vikki Dempsey, VideoTENSIONS director and curator, said VideoGLORY deals with issues such as freedom, independence and coming-of-age stories in the human sense rather than the patriotic sense.


Access to "A" Mountain will be closed today, tomorrow and Friday. Saturday and Sunday, it will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Regular hours resume Monday.
