University offers wealth of services for those who know where to look

The University of Arizona offers an array of services to its students.

Services range from free tutoring to telephones - you just have to know where to look.

The following services are a small part of the whole, but should point you in the right direction. The staffs in each of these offices are also a great source of information.

One of the lesser known services on campus is check cashing. Upstairs in the Student Union, tucked away in the All Aboard office, you can cash your personal checks for a 25-cent fee - just bring your student identification card.

Tutoring services are available through some academic departments, such as astronomy, mathematics and physics, as well as through the University Learning Center.

Career Services, on the lower level of Old Main, provides free help in job searches, before and after graduation. They offer:

For the Internet savvy, the UA has its own site on the World Wide Web, UA Info, that provides detailed information on the resources available to students. Included is information on class schedules and availability, financial aid, guides to ASUA services, minority resources and much more.
