UA to close in honor of King holiday

The University of Arizona will observe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday. There will be no classes and most university offices will be closed.


The message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be celebrated at the MLK Jr. Freedom March and Rally on Monday. This year's celebration theme is "Voices of Visions."

The Freedom March starts at 8 a.m. on the UA Mall. Participants will march along North Campbell Avenue until they reach East Broadway, then will take North Alvernon Way to Reid Park, which is between Broadway and 22nd Street. There will be booths set up a nd entertainment at the park to celebrate African American history.
