Matt Palmer, an eighth grade student at Carsen Middle School, spent yesterday afternoon in Flandrau Planetarium looking at various exhibits including a 1.8-meter mirror seen below. The mirror is a duplicate of those located in the muliple mirror telescope , which was created by the U of A and the Smithonian Astrophysical Observatory and is positioned in the Santa Rita Mountains on Mt. Hopkins. Palmer hopes to one day be a planetary scientist.
