A Tucson man was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday on charges of third degree criminal trespassing when he returned to the College of Law library, 1201 E. Speedway Blvd., after being banned from the building.

University police told Garry Jones, 38, of the 1200 block of East 24th Street, to stay away from the library Jan. 29 after he reportedly made harassing comments to female patrons. He was warned at that time that any return would constitute trespassing.

Jones was cited and released.


University police arrested a UA student on criminal nuisance charges Thursday after officers observed him urinating on the ground by the drive-through window of Taco Bell, 1818 E. Speedway Blvd.

Police reports indicated that Michael P. Goldwater Jr., 22, of the 100 block of North Forbes Boulevard, told officers that he had just left a bar and was aware that public urination was illegal.

He was visible to several other cars waiting in the drive-through line, according to police reports.

Goldwater was cited and released at the scene.


A female student called police after her car was vandalized in the Zone One parking lot south of Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St.

Between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 11:15 a.m. Thursday, someone keyed the driver's door and kicked and dented the passenger door of the victim's 1985 Toyota pickup.

The student suspects her former roommate, who reportedly left her a note with many expletives Jan. 22 before moving out.

The victim will press charges if the responsible party is found.


A Tucson man was arrested on DUI charges Thursday after police pulled his 1984 Ford Bronco over for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

Justin D. Roth, 19, turned right from North Park Avenue onto East North Campus Drive at 8:34 p.m.

According to police reports, Roth admitted to drinking beer with dinner.

A search of his vehicle also yielded two false driver's licenses as well.

After failing field sobriety tests, university police charged Roth with minor driving with alcohol in body and misrepresentation of age to obtain liquor.

He was cited and released. The false licenses were placed into evidence.


A UA student reported the theft of a Zone One permit from his 1965 Volkswagen Bug Thursday.

Sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Wednesday, unknown persons reached through an unlatched driver's side port window and removed the permit from the car parked in the Zone One lot north of Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St.


Someone attempted to steal a bicycle out of the courtyard at Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., but fled the area after an RA spotted him from a second-story window.

The RA at the hall told police he saw a male in his early twenties pulling on a bicycle while holding a screwdriver.

Upon seeing the RA, the man jumped over the wall surrounding the courtyard and fled toward Highland Avenue.

Officers searched the area, but made no contact with the man.


Police officers found a baggie filled with a green, leafy substance on a sidewalk near the intersection of East University Boulevard and North Euclid Avenue while conducting a routine traffic stop.

No one was in the area and examination of the baggie yielded no identification marks, police reports said.

The baggie and its contents were placed into evidence as found property.
