University police arrested a Tucson youth on charges of reckless driving and cited three others at 10:34 p.m. Friday after the three were seen riding in-line skates while clinging to the bumper of a moving vehicle.

The driver, 16, fled from the intersection of East Second Street and North Warren Avenue after the three skaters detached from the 1986 Ford Mustang he was driving. He was later intercepted by other officers at the intersection of North Campbell Avenue and East Speedway Boulevard. He was cited for reckless driving and released.

A 17-year-old boy was the only skater arrested. He told officers the driver of the car did not know the three were riding behind the car, but his story was later refuted by the two other skaters. He was cited for giving false information to law enforcement and released.
