Coincidence or not, the Wildcat baseball team, coming off a winning series against the Texas A&M Aggies, will now face the New Mexico State Aggies today at Sancet Field. The team swept New Mexico State in last year's series.

"New Mexico State has improved steadily every year since Elliot Avent took over as their coach. They come in here to play us every year and we expect a real hard-fought series because that's what they normally give us," UA head coach Jerry Kindall said.

A hard-fought series against Texas A&M gave the Wildcats a confident outlook on this week's series.

"We came in strong, we hit the ball and had great pitching," sophomore centerfielder Diego Rico said of the series against Texas A&M.

This series will be the last of 13-game home stand for Arizona.

First pitch for both games is 2:30 p.m. Both games will be broadcast by KNST (AM 790).
