• The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop on how to use Pine e-mail in the Center for Computing and Information Technology Room 311 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

  The workshop will show participants how to access and use Pine e-mail from computer systems inside and outside the UA. Topics include sending, replying to and creating folders to organize e-mail messages. An account on the UA e-mail system is required prior to the class.

• The UA baseball team plays Southern Utah University at 2:30 p.m. at Frank Sancet Field.

• The UA women's basketball team plays The University of Oregon in McKale Center at 7 p.m.

• Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering presents Steve Vogel, of Duke University, to speak on "Copying Nature - When Have We Managed to do It?" in the new aerospace and mechanical engineering building Room S202. Beverages are served at 3:20 p.m. in Room N722.

• The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "The Ghost and the Darkness" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. The midnight show is "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." Admission is $2.50.

UA's first football team began in 1899 and they played their first game on Nov. 20 of that year.The football team played the Tucson Town Team. The score was 0-0.
