By Kristen Davis Arizona Daily Wildcat February 20, 1997 Women off to team indoor championshipsThe seventh-ranked UA women's tennis team is out of its comfort zone this weekend. They are in Madison, Wis. to play in the ITA National Team Indoors Championships. The tournament, which features the top 16 teams in the country, will be played in a different format. The Wildcats will be forced to play a different format then the one they normally play. Collegiate women's teams usuallyplay six singles matches and then three doubles matches. The total possible score is nine. In this tournament, however, the teams will play the three doubles matches first. One point will be given to the team that wins two of the three doubles matches and each singles victory will count for one point. "I'm not sure how it will effect our team. But every team will be new to it so it will be interesting to see how it works out," UA head coach Becky Bell said. Arizona (4-3 overall, 1-3 Pacific 10 Conference South) does not have a lot of experience competing against Eastern teams. "It's good to see teams we don't normally see in the South because they're always good," Bell said. UA plays No. 13 Tennessee (3-2) today. They met the Volunteers in the first round of last season's tournament and beat them 7-0.
