KAMP unresponsive to student bandsEditor:Colin Wyatt seems to make a huge point out of KAMP's dedication to giving the students a voice ("UA students ought to become more involved with KAMP student radio," Arizona Daily Wildcat, Monday). I have a small bone to pick with this. To my knowledge, I have never heard or seen KAMP promote or play any campus area bands/musicians. Speaking from personal experience, I have inquired via e-mail to KAMP before asking them what it takes to get a campus musician played on KAMP. I asked them if a student could submit a demo/CD of personal material to see if it would be accepted for airplay. To my dismay, I received no reply. I wrote back about a week later asking if anyone was out there. Again, no reply. Mr. Wyatt, you say you wish to give the student's a voice, but I couldn't even get you guys to listen to a student. I don't want to make a bigger deal out of this than it probably is, but I just can't resist the urge to point out hypocrisy in action. I do, however, wish to support KAMP and must add that I'd be more than willing to pay a buck more a semester in order to support a real transmitter for them and for us.
