- James Oles, assistant art professor at Wellesly College and Mexico city-based curator, presents "Billboards on Adobe Walls: Photographs of Mexican Architecture." Oles will give a slide lecture on works of foreign and Mexican photographers. Those covered include Alvarez, Bravo, Levitt, Modotti, Ravell, Strand, Siskind, Weston and Yavno. The presentation is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Center for Creative Photography auditorium, and is free. Call 621-7968 for more information.
- Suzanne Klotz and Gonzalo Espinosa give a public talk that focuses on the collaborative process as a means of artistic exploration and understanding between Hispanic and Anglo cultures. The talk is at 7 p.m. in the Architecture building.
- The concept of such collaboration is reflected in their art exhibit, "Warriors and Dreamers," which is currently showing at the Joseph Gross Gallery. The gallery is directly across the underpass from Architecture and is next to the Art building, on the southeast corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

- Kendra Gaines, of the Writing Skills Improvement Program, presents, "The Process of Writing - Getting Started: Overcoming Writer's Block." The workshop is free and open to all graduate students, and no pre-registration is required. It is the first in a series of weekly writing workshops that cover basic aspects of graduate-level writing. The workshop is in Modern Languages, Room 410, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. For more information, call Donna Rabuck at 621-5849.
- The Center for Computing and Information Technology Open House is today from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Many rooms are open for display, and attendees can learn about such things as the computer operations and main equipment room, the multimedia and visualization lab, and the CCIT telecommunications switchroom. The open house is open to the UA community, and includes refreshments, prizes and giveaways. CCIT is located on the southeast corner of Speedway Boulevard and Mountain Avenue.
