By Staff Reports Arizona Daily Wildcat March 10, 1997 UA men finish 3rd at Pac-10 meetThe Arizona men's swimming team finished third at the Pacific 10 Conference Championships in Long Beach, Calif. this weekend.Arizona led the field after the first day of competition, but fell to third on the second day. They finished with a team score of 575, with Stanford winning its 16th-consecutive title with 850 and Southern Cal finishing second with 765. Individually, freshman Ryk Neethling lead the way with a time of 14:53.30 in the 1,650-yard freestyle, 15 seconds faster than anyone else. Neethling also finished second in the 500 freestyle with an NCAA qualifying time of 4 minutes 20.34 seconds. Glenn Flint finished second in the 200 breaststroke (1:59.39), Chris Counts was second in the 200 individual medley (1:47.38) and the 200 medley relay team also took second with a time of 1:29.01.
