Students should stay in same sections

Editor:

While watching the Arizona-Stanford men's basketball game, I have to admit that I am a little jealous. Not entirely over who won the game, but rather the rowdy, "sixth-man" shirt-wearing student section. Not only did they cheer for the Cardinals, but after the final buzzer sounded, they had no problem rushing onto the court to celebrate victory. I, on the other hand, could not even get down to court side after a stunning win; nor could the rest of the percentage of student ticket holders for that matter. Why? Because the Arizona student section, if it even exists, is so scattered throughout McKale Center that it cannot be seen by the unaided eye. Look around next time. Well, it will probably be next season. Who sits in what should be the student section at Wildcat basketball games? The Tucsonans who can pay much more than any University of Arizona student could for the prime seats. And what do they do? They sit there in red sweatshirts and watch silently. That's it. No jumping in unison, no unbounded enthusiasm. Once again the UA has sold out for what they really love and cut its true livelihood, the student body, short for what we truly deserve.
