Please stay tuned for a message from CBSWith the lack of student tickets available, the Arizona Daily Wildcat has come up with a solution for people to go to the Final Four games: become an actor, get a show and go on CBS.The Wildcat always thought the NCAA basketball tournament was about basketball and the exploitation of the players by Nike and the schools. After last night, however, it became apparent that it is also a hard-core push for an increase in viewership of CBS' prime time schedule. Here's a recap of the game: The Arizona Wildcats are up by ten points. Hey, isn't that Chuck Norris, who plays Walker, Texas Ranger, which of course is on CBS. The Minnesota Golden Gophers are driving for the hoop. And look who has a great view of it! It's Ted Danson, from the CBS show Ink. When asked who he was rooting for, Danson refused to reveal his pick, saying that it might alienate viewers. Never knew that Danson was such an authority on basketball ... oh, wait. He isn't. Now, to the half-time show. A special interview with the star of Everyone Loves Ray. Well, too bad the viewers don't love Ray, although it was quite a treat to watch him squirm at the interview. CBS, please spare us from these tasteless promos and self-congratulatory stance. It's bad enough that you subject us to the ephemeral statements by Bob Costa; stop the insanity of the inane interviews of CBS sitcom stars. A little clue, however, on how to get more people to watch your channel. Instead of just spending the money on big name stars, put a little money into script development.
