'Money talks' in UA's Final Four ticket policy

Editor:

Few issues here at the U of A have prompted me to get so angry that I felt like I needed to voice my feelings. But, when I read yesterday's article "Fans run into roadblocks on the way to Final Four" (Wednesday), I had to vent. Only 350 tickets for the whole student body is ridiculous. OUTRAGEOUS, even. I cannot believe that OUR team makes it the Final Four and OUR university can only allot 10 percent of the tickets for the students - to represent a measly one percent of the student body. And the rest of the tickets? Well, once again, money talks at this university. To get tickets in the future, I guess I will have to donate money to the athletic department (my tuition funds and fan support is not enough.)You would think that with all of the money the Wildcat Club donates to earn "priority points," someone in charge of athletic department could allocate some funds to charter a few buses to the games so the few chosen students could get to Indiana safely. I think that is the least OUR university could do for OUR students. But, who am I fooling? The head honchos in the athletic department do not care ... because they are busy packing for Indianapolis.

So, to the elite 350 students who got tickets to the game .... I wish you a safe trip to Indianapolis. Cheer hard and represent all of us well because we would have been there if given a chance.
