A Tucson woman reported she was harassed by a man Wednesday while watching television in a lounge in the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd.

The woman told university police that she was watching television about 10:36 p.m. when a man yelled and cursed at her, saying she had no right to watch the televisions. She said the man turned the televisions off.

When the woman went to tell the information desk clerk to report what the man was doing, the man followed the woman and continued to yell and curse, police reports stated.

The woman told police she did not feel threatened by the man, but that the man's actions were disturbing.

The woman told police she did not want to press charges.

Police reports described the man as about 6-feet tall with red hair and in his early 20s. At the time of the disturbance, the man was not wearing socks or shoes, but was wearing a T-shirt and plaid overshirt, police reports stated.


A female UA employee reported a computer hard drive and a doctoral robe stolen Wednesday from Room 114 in the Harvill Building, 1103 E. Second St.

The employee told university police she locked and left the room Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. When she returned to the room Wednesday at 6:15 a.m., the Hi Com hard drive and her father's Oxford doctoral robe were missing.

Police reports stated that the room had been "disturbed," with a small lamp knocked down on a desk by a window which faced an open courtyard. Reports stated that the entry was made through the window by forcing it open.

The value of the hard drive and doctoral robe were unknown.


A male UA employee reported a water pipe broke Wednesday in the Shantz Building, 1200 E. South Campus Drive.

The employee told university police that a custodian in the fifth floor men's bathroom accidentally broke a water pipe about 11:30 p.m. and the water had leaked through to the first floor.

When police arrived at the building, the employee had called Radiation Control because radioactive isotopes were in some of the rooms affected by the leaking water, police reports stated.

Police walked through the affected rooms with Radiation Control and found no unusual amount of radiation present, police reports stated.

The employee told police Custodial Services would vacuum the standing water left after the water pipe was shut off.

The value of the damage was unknown.


A male student reported stereo equipment stolen from his vehicle Tuesday parked in a parking lot east of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house, 1801 E. First St.

The student told university police he parked his 1996 Jeep Cherokee in the lot March 11 at midnight. When he returned to the vehicle March 12 at 1 p.m., he found the front wing window broken and an Alpine stereo face plate, two Fosgate tweeter speakers, two Fosgate woofer speakers, a Streamline amplifier, two Kicker woofer speakers and a Pioneer six-disc compact disc changer were missing from the vehicle.

The value of the items and the damage is unknown.


University police found two cement trash containers smashed Wednesday near the Second Street Parking Garage, 1340 E. Second St.

Police were patrolling the west side of the garage about 1:40 a.m. when they found debris south of Second Street on North Mountain Avenue. Reports stated the debris was from a cement trash container which had been rolled down the northwest stairs of the garage from the second level.

Police found another cement trash container smashed into pieces at the southeast corner of the garage.

Police cleared some of the debris from the road and contacted Facilities Management to finish the clean up. The value of the damage was unknown.


A male student reported his wallet and items in it stolen Thursday from the Campus Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St.

The student told university police that at 5:30 p.m. he placed his keys and wallet at the corner of an indoor basketball court. When he returned to the items at 6 p.m., the wallet was missing.

The wallet was valued at $15. It contained $80 cash and numerous cards of unknown values.
