Man arrested on indecency charges

Capt. Roberto Villasenor, a spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said Alan Hodson, 19, of the 1700 block of North Park Avenue, was arrested on charges of indecent exposure and public sexual indecency after he was interviewed by Tucson police detectives Tuesday.

Hodson was released after being cited, Villasenor said.

Villasenor said a 20-year-old woman was walking near the intersection of Fourth Street and Park Avenue March 24 when a teal Saturn pulled up beside her driving at the same pace she was walking. When the woman looked at the car she saw a man had exposed his penis and was masturbating, Villasenor said.

The woman called Tucson police, but by the time police arrived, the car had already left the area, Villasenor said. He said the woman saw the same car while walking to her boyfriend's house and police investigated that lead.

Tucson Police spoke to the owner of the Saturn, who said his roommate, Hodson, had borrowed the car, Villasenor said. He said the roommate fit the description of the man described by the woman and was brought in for questioning.

Tucson police were told of a similar incident involving a similar type of car, but Hodson told police he was not involved in that incident, Villasenor said. He said Tucson police are still investigating that incident.

Detective Sgt. Sal Celi of the University of Arizona Police Department said others may have seen similar incidents but have not reported them to police. He said UAPD is asking anyone with information about such incidents to call police at 621-UAPD.
