CBS, Sports Illustrated chronicle Arizona title

Sports Illustrated's commemorative championship edition hit newsstands in Arizona yesterday.


Just in case any fans missed it, or want to enjoy Arizona's national championship over and over, a championship video produced by CBS Video will be available for purchase later this month.

CBS Video will release "The Official 1997 NCAA Championship Video" throughout Arizona starting April 22, a week earlier than the national distribution.

The video will feature Arizona's entire run through the tournament, including its come-from-behind wins against South Alabama and College of Charleston in Memphis, its shocking win over Kansas and the Final Four-berth securing win overtime win versus Prov idence, the seminfinal win over North Carolina and the thrilling showdown between Arizona and Kentucky that decided the national title.

Also included in the video will be special interviews and camera angles not shown on television. Arizona head coach Lute Olson and tournament MVP Miles Simon are the featured speakers.

The 45-minute video will be available nationally on April 29 and can be ordered for $19.95 by calling 1-800-747-7999.

If fans can't wait that long to relive some of the moments of Arizona's run to the national championship, they can pick up a copy of the Special Commemerative Edition of Sports Illustrated that has a section dedicated to the Wildcats. It's only available for Arizona residents at this time.

The magazine costs $5.95 and is available at the UA Associated Students Bookstore, McKale Center, the Medical Bookstore at University Medical Centerand several other sites around campus.

A bookstore employee estimated that by 4:30 p.m. yester-day, over 1,000 had been sold.
