By Kristen Davis Arizona Daily Wildcat April 8, 1997 After 2 rainouts, Arizona finally gets a chance to play Arizona St.The Arizona and Arizona State women's tennis teams agree on one thing - that today's match, which is the third time its been scheduled will hopefully be the charm. The match on Feb. 11 and last Thursday were both rained out, with the Sun Devils making the trip both times. "It's ASU," Bell said. "We were ready to play them on Thursday and we'll certainly be ready to play them (today)." Arizona, the 14th-ranked team in the nation, get the chance for another upset today at 2 p.m. against the eighth-ranked Sun Devils at Robson Tennis Center. "We know Arizona is very good," ASU head coach Sheila McInerney said. "I expect certainly a very difficult match - there's no question about that." The Wildcats (13-5 overall, 2-4 in the Pacific 10 Conference Southern Division) won their sixth-straight victory Saturday, beating No. 5 Texas. "I think (it was) a big win for the team and I think it gives us confidence going into the ASU match," UA head coach Becky Bell said. The Sun Devils (13-3, 4-2) lost 7-2 to Texas on Sunday, ending their six-match winning streak. No. 18 Reka Cseresnyes will matchup with seventh-ranked Vicky Maes, a junior who is 15-3 in Arizona's top singles position. Although Maes earned her third-straight singles victory after coming from behind against the Longhorns, she is not entirely pleased with her play. "I have been struggling a little bit and I knew if I could pull out (Saturday's) match, I could probably get right back on track and be ready for ASU," Maes said. Arizona State has the 18th best doubles team in the country with the combination of Stephanie Lansdorp and Katy Propstra. The pair hold an 8-3 record. They will meet Maes and senior Khristen Pietrucha, the sixth-ranked doubles team. The two are 15-3 after having their five-match winning streak snapped by the Longhorns.
