By Chris Jackson Arizona Daily Wildcat April 11, 1997 UA track and field packing a big suitcaseThe Arizona men's and women's track teams should get used to the road. They're going to be on it for the rest of the season.Save for one meet in May, every other competition for the Wildcats will come in other stadiums, on opponent's courses. And that suits at least some of the Wildcats just fine. "I like travelling, as opposed to running at home," sophomore distance runner Amy Skieresz said. "It just feels like, ho, hum another day at the track. You don't get your adrenalin pumped up at home." With the end of the season now in sight, all of the athletes will have to get their adrenalin levels up. The time left to qualify for the Pacific 10 Conference and NCAA Championships is running out. "We're going into meets where winning isn't as important as qualifying," UA head coach Dave Murray said. The Wildcats will be competing in a three-way meet with Arizona State and Northern Arizona starting tomorrow at 5 p.m. Multiple Arizona athletes on both the men's and women's squads have already qualified for the Pac-10 Championships. Men with qualifying marks are sophomore Tapio Kolunsarka in the hammer throw, junior Dominic Johnson in the pole vault, senior Kyle Dorsey in the 400-meter hurdles, senior Akin Akinremi in the 100m, senior Dameon Ortiz in both the 200 and 400m, senior Jon Pillow in the 3,000m steeplechase and junior Bob Keino in the mile. Female qualifiers include senior Holly Montoya in the hammer, freshman Mandy Shefman in the shot put, freshmen Erin Aldrich and Tara Flaming in the high jump, senior Dee Dee Buzzi in the 100m hurdles and 200m dash, junior Virginia Camacho in the 1,500m and Skieresz in the 3,000m, the 5,000m and the mile.
