The African American Studies Program hosts a reception in honor of Al Young at the Martin Luther King Center at 3 p.m.
Young is co-founder of the Yardbird Reader and Quilt, multicultural arts journals. Young is scheduled to read excerpts of his poetry tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium.
William Velez and David Lovelock lecture on "The Code Breakers" in conjunction with Math Awareness Week, including a discussion of the "Enigma Machine" at 6 p.m. in the Math building Room 501.
The School of Music and Dance hosts UA Percussion Ensembles, featuring Estibaliz Gestesi and Marcio Bezerra, piano duo. Also, the Rosewood Marimba Band performs its traditional mix of ragtime and vaudeville-style music in the Fine Arts Complex, Crowder Hall at 8 p.m. For more information, contact MusiCall 621-2998.
Wildlife and Fisheries Science presents Kate Kelly, a graduate student, to speak on "Human Dimensions of Wildlife: The Pusch Ridge Bighorns," in Bio Sciences East Room 225 at 3 p.m.
