Right to choose better than ban on tobacco

Editor:

Jill Dellamalva's column ("Eliminate tobacco companies to stop teen smoking", Sept. 5) is a great example of liberal "Feel Good" thinking. What would she do with all the unemployed tobacco farmers? That's right, money produced by the tobacco industry is evil. The tobacco farmer that is unemployed who cannot feed his or her family because the government has banned tobacco companies could become a rancher.

Wait, isn't red meat bad for you and if you eat red meat, could you not have heart trouble? If you think her solution to teen smoking is good, why don't we ban Carl's Jr. and other fast food companies because the food they serve could cause heart disease.

Wake up. We live in America and it's my right to smoke, if I choose, and it is the tobacco companies' right to sell smoking products. If banning tobacco stopped the problem, then why is the use of LSD, marijuana, cocaine, etc. still on the rise. Jill, this is reality. Deal with it.
