A man was reported masturbating Thursday at Delta Gamma sorority, 1448 E. First St.
The man was sitting in the living room of the house about 10:40 p.m., when a resident approached to ask if he needed help. She noticed he was masturbating and ran from the room screaming.
University police responded, but the man had already fled.
A man was arrested while allegedly attempting to steal a bicycle Saturday outside the Student Recreation Center, 1400 E. Sixth St.
The man, who identified himself as Francisco X. Cruz, 40, of the 3000 block of South Bronson Road, was seen near the bicycle racks about 3:52 p.m. and was confronted by several students. He was later stopped by university police on East Caddie Street.
Witnesses told police that Cruz put a bolt cutter under his shirt when he was discovered. They said he later threw the cutters on the roof of a house.
Cruz told police he had come to campus by bus because he "wanted to go for a ride." Cruz told police five or 10 people began chasing him and he "ran for his life." Cruz told police he had found the bolt cutters as he ran, then threw them away because they were slowing him down.
Cruz was cited for attempted theft of less than $250 and taken to Pima County Pre-trial Services.
Cruz later identified himself at Pima County Pre-trial Services as "Saul Villalobos." University police asked Cruz why he had called himself "Cruz" before, and he said, "Because you were dumb enough to believe me."
The man carried no identification.
He was also cited for false reporting to law enforcement and was left in custody at pre-trial services.
A frustrated UA employee allegedly assaulted a university police employee at UAPD headquarters, 1200 E. Lowell St.
Matthew Hall, 21, of the 2000 block of North Shannon Road, came to the police station at 11:56 a.m. to get his fingerprints taken for a job at the YMCA. Hall currently works as a UA baker.
Hall was informed he could only be fingerprinted between 8 and 11 a.m. Hall said he could not make it and asked if there was a way the police employee he was talking to could "compromise." When Hall was told he could talk to a supervisor, he began shouting, "I love you, I love you," and pointing at the employee, police reports stated.
Another university police employee entered the building as Hall was shouting and Hall grabbed her by the arms and "embraced" her, police reports said. He then ran out of the building and got onto his bicycle, riding away shouting "Fuck you, fuck you," and, "Come and get my ass."
Hall was stopped by police at East University Boulevard and North Park Avenue, where he was arrested for disorderly conduct and simple assault.
Hall was taken to Pima County Pre-trial Services.
University police were called Saturday to the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, 1801 E. First St., after a hit-and-run car incident.
A female student was at the fraternity about 3:57 a.m. when an unknown male began "harassing her." Several fraternity members asked the man to leave.
The man got into his truck and drove the wrong way down the one-way street before turning around. He then "gunned the engine," hopped the curb onto the fraternity's lawn and hit one of the fraternity's members, police reports stated.
The man was last seen heading south on North Campbell Avenue in a silver Ford Ranger. He had told a witness he worked at the "hospital."
The student who was hit refused medical treatment and did not appear to be seriously injured, according to police reports.
A glass door was discovered broken Sunday at 2:30 a.m. on the northeast side of Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave.
A resident assistant doing security rounds discovered the damage. She said it must have been done between midnight and 2:30 a.m.
The 3-foot-by-3-foot glass section of the door appeared to have been kicked three times. The value of the damage was unknown.
