Abortion clinic violence makes it hard to take pro-lifers seriously

Editor:

Bravo to Chris Badeaux who theorizes that killing people who believe differently than you "might be the only way to be taken seriously."

Gee, I guess that might do it. But if killing people is the only way that someone's message is taken "seriously" maybe there is something wrong with the message. Maybe there is something wrong with a message that states "I believe all murder is wrong, but if I have to kill you to get you to agree with me I will."

Chris Badeaux states that the reason some pro-lifers have resorted to violence is because no one is listening to them, that they have been shut out of the public arena. They have not been shut out, they are still there.

Badeaux's column of Monday (April 28) is enough proof of that. Pro-lifers have not been denied their forum, they have not been denied their chance to speak. The reality is not that pro-lifers have been denied a voice but that they are spouting a message with which a majority of Americans do not agree. By some strange convolutions of logic some pro-lifers think that by going out and killing people they will get more Americans to agree with them.

Somehow I don't think this will work. Somehow I think that these pro-lifers could convince a lot more people that all life is sanctified if they actually believed it themselves.
