- "I Shot Andy Warhol" plays at the Memorial Student Union Gallagher Theatre, today through Friday. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m., and admission is $2.50.
- KAMP student radio broadcasts from the UA Mall from noon to 1 p.m.
- For Artbreak, Bayo Ijagbemi lectures on "Traditional/Modern Art: Neo-Colonial Framework in African Art Studies." Ijagbemi is a curatorial assistant at the UA Museum of Art, and is also an ethnographer and art historian. He discusses how African artists have maintained their cultural integrity despite the influences of European colonialism, and critiques the practice of discussing African arts within the framework of "traditional" and "contemporary." The lecture is at 12:15 p.m. in the UA Museum of Art, located next to the art building in the Fine Arts Complex. Call Brian Beck at 621-7567 with any questions.
- The Undergraduate Society of Criminal Justice Studies presents the FBI at its first meeting. A special agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation discusses current and future hiring issues and procedures, areas it investigates, and other questions you may have about the Bureau. The presentation is at 7 p.m. in Harvill Building Room 305. It is open to the public.
- The School of Music and Dance presents a Faculty Recital titled "The Songs of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn." The recital features Tom Ervin on trombone, and Jeff Haskell on piano. Expect to hear such classics as Ellington's "Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me," and Strayhorn's "Satin Doll." It begins at 8 p.m. in Crowder Hall, located in the music building, in the Fine Arts Complex. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for faculty, and $5 for senior citizens and students with ID. - Kendra Gaines, of the Writing Skills Improvement Program, discusses "Critical or Rhetorical Analysis: Close Reading." The workshop is at 5 p.m. in Modern Languages Room 410. - The Ramblers Hiking Club is having its weekly meeting for hiking and outdoor sport enthusiasts. People with all levels of experience in these areas are welcome, and the meeting is at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Cactus Lounge Room 282.
