Collins should stop whining

Tom Collins needs a reality check. The thing that really sucks about America is people like him who complain and do nothing to effect change. And what a list of complaints! Less than intelligent screenplays, an apartment complex that sucks for unnamed rea sons and bad service at a fast-food restaurant. If all these things bother you and you do nothing about it, you have no one to blame but yourself. You are a whiner, Tom - grow up. I recently spent a month in Kenya, where the majority of families couldn't even afford a Happy Meal, much less an apartment in your less than perfect complex. They live in huts with walls of dirt or cow-dung with thatched roofs, no plumbing of any kind, no electricity and grow their own food to survive. And you know what? They a re the happiest people I have ever met. Their clothes are old and torn - sometimes literally falling off their bodies. They walk several kilometers every single day to collect water for their daily needs. Many of them suffer from chronic malnutrition. The se people have lives Mr. Collins can't possibly imagine, yet they smile and laugh, welcome you into their homes and offer you anything they have. They are generous, happy and a pleasure to be around. They have nothing Mr. Collins. The next time you turn o n the water in your bathroom sink or flip on a light switch or drive through for a burger, give a thought to what doesn't suck about America. This list is endless, but you aren't on it.
