A UA employee reported June 20 that $200 was taken from her purse at the Rural Health Office, 2501 E. Elm St.

The employee told university police she had recently returned from a conference in Washington with extra cash in her wallet. The employee arrived at work about 9 a.m. and set her purse down next to a desk in the office. She told police she had been in an d out of the office all day and was unsure when the money was taken, but discovered it missing around 12:15 p.m.

The employee told police a similar theft occurred on June 4 and that she believed the culprit may be a high school student hired to work in the office.

She told police that on the day of both thefts, the suspect commented that she didn't have any money because it was between paydays.

Police spoke to the suspect who offered twice for police to search her belongings. Police obliged but did not find any money.

A UA student riding his mountain bike sustained minor injuries June 20 after colliding with a university utility vehicle on the bike path east of the Marley Building, 1145 E. 4th St.

At 12:38 p.m., the student was cruising southbound at about 10-15 mph when a UA grounds employee started to drive his Mule utility vehicle westbound across the pike path. The student, unable to avoid the collision, crashed into the vehicle, suffering mino r cuts and scrapes. The student refused any medical attention.

His mountain bike also sustained some minor scrapes but was reported to be in fair condition.

The student told university police the employee did not look before entering the pathway. The groundskeeper said he did not see the student until he heard the crash.

Because the accident occurred on a private roadway, no citations were issued.

A female UA employee reported June 20 that a Residence Life golf cart was stolen from the east side of Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St.

The Residence Life employee told university police that she parked the teal green E-Z go golf cart on the east side of the dorm June 19 at 10:30 p.m. When she returned about 10 a.m., the cart was gone. She told police that the keys were not left in the ca rt but that any small key could be used to start the engine.

The cart, which has a white canopy top and Residence Life stickers on it, does not have a license plate because it was stolen some time ago, reports stated.

The golf cart was valued at $6,000.

Police have no suspects.

Between June 19 and 20, five bicycles with a combined value of more than $1,400 were stolen from various campus areas, with four of the thefts occurring around the same time period.

The first bicycle, a red Cannondale F-500 mountain bike valued at $750, was taken June 19 from in front of the Memorial Student Union. The student told university police he locked his bike with a U-lock at about 11 a.m. and when he returned 10 minutes lat er, it was gone.

A student reported his $350 Trek 830 mountain bike stolen in the afternoon of June 20 from 645 E. University Blvd. A third student reported his bike was stolen between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. from 1050 N. Palm.

A UA employee reported his $100 women's mountain bike stolen at 6 p.m. from 1100 E. Lowell St. The fifth bike stolen on June 20, a $250 Trek 850 mountain bike, occurred between 3 and 4:00 p.m. from the east side of Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 922 E. F ifth St..

Police have no suspects.

A 13-year-old boy attending the Lute Olson Basketball Camp reported his tan King Kong duffel bag stolen from his room at the La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave.

The camper told university police he and his roommate had left the room about 6 p.m. to find other bags of his that were missing. When they returned at 8 p.m., the King Kong bag, which contained two swim suits, goggles and a towel, was gone.

The value of the items was unknown.

Police have no suspects.
