Wednesday

The Museum of Art presents "The Lunatic's Ball" by Cassie C. Davis from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Museum of Art's Lionel Rombach Gallery, today through August 14. A reception will be held for the exhibition tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lionel Rombach Ga llery.

The Summerfest '97 Distinguished Lecturer/Multicultural Series presents "Reading and Writing Toward 2000," at 7 p.m. in the Modern Languages auditorium.

The Arizona Historical Society presents "Our Legacy: Reflections of Arizona Leaders," from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St. The speaker will be Pima County Supervisor Raul Grijalva. Admission to the lecture is $5 for the ge neral public and $3 for students.

The UA Poetry Center presents a fiction reading by Caroline Langston at 7 p.m. The reading will take place at Antigone Books, 411 N. Fourth Ave.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Anaconda," today and tomorrow at 7:30 and 9:20 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.

A summer chorus and orchestra will play tonight at the Fine Arts Complex Crowder Hall, at 8 p.m. The performance will include selections from Bach and Mendelssohn, among others. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $8 for UA employees and $6 for studen ts and seniors. Call the Fine Arts Box Office (621-1162) for more information.

Thursday

The Student Union Rotunda Gallery will feature "Collectivity," by Phoenix artist Carolyn Lavender, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is located on the third floor of the Student Union.

The Union Gallery, in the Student Union, presents "Desert Solitaire," by Max Hammond from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday on the first floor of the Student Union.

The Student Union Arizona Gallery presents "The Land," by selected artists from the Arizona Women's Caucus for Art from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

As part of Summerfest '97- Videotensions, Steve Seid presents "VideoINSCAPE: The Fantastic Voyage- Video Art and Medical Imaging," at 7:30 p.m. in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building auditorium.

Friday

The Center For Creative Photography will host an opening reception for Canadian Photographer Sandra Semchuk from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit is titled "Sandra Semchuk: How Far Back is Home . " and will be accompanied by the music of Flautist Jen Lumpkin durin g the reception. The exhibition will show until September 14.

Gallagher Theatre presents "Sling Blade" today, Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $2.50.
