July 8 An 18-year-old student reported $100 cash was stolen from her unlocked room at Yavapai Residence Hall, 1222 E. South Campus Drive. The student told university police two $50 bills were taken from her wallet that was in the far right middle drawer of her dresser. She left the room unlocked at about 8:30 a.m. on July 6 and when she returned on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. the money was missing . Police have no suspects. July 9 A 53-year-old man was arrested for drinking in public at the corner of East Sixth Street and North Fremont Avenue. Rob Roy Robertson, of a general delivery address, was walking down the sidewalk when university police observed him at 9:30 p.m. on the southeast corner of the intersection drinking from a "Mad Dog 20/20" alcoholic beverage bottle. Police placed Robertson under arrest on charges of drinking in public and transported him to Pima County Jail where he was booked. July 11 A facilities management employee reported about 10 white glass bulb covers were damaged in the park at 1326 E. Mabel and Mountain Avenue. The employee told university police the damage was caused by rocks "probably thrown by juveniles." The bulb covers were valued at $50 a piece. Police have no suspects. July 12 University police stopped a possible burglary in progress after seeing a truck backed up to a door at a vacant UA building ,1640 E. Sixth St. When police arrived at 8:44 p.m., the southeast door had been removed and a man was loading the truck with radiators and pictures from the building. The man told police a general contractor named "Dave" said he could remove the items since the building wa s condemned. Police contacted the director of facilities management who confirmed the building was condemned, however said the man should've had paperwork to authorize the removal of the items. Police told the suspect to return the items and to fix the door. Police le t the man go but said burglary charges may be filed against him. July 13 University police K-9 officer "Darrio" assisted Department of Public Safety officers in a drug seizure. At 12:52 a.m. DPS smelled marijuana coming from a house in the 2300 block of East Monta Vista Road and requested a K-9 unit. During the search, Darrio alerted to the rear tire of a car parked in the drive way. Police looked under the fender and found a bag with 4 grams of white rocks suspected to be cocaine.
July 14 John Green, 31, was arrested on criminal trespassing charges after being identified as the person seen snooping around McKale Center, 1721 E. Enke Drive. University police responded to the Main Library in reference to a theft suspect that was being detained by several UA football players. Green had been seen in the football locker room where money and other items were missing. When police arrived at 6:55 p.m., Green was involved in a verbal argument with the players who were accusing him of stealing $20 and other items from the locker room, police reports stated. Green admitted to police he had been in the locker room but said he was just "looking around," reports stated. Police recognized Green as a suspect that had been accused of several thefts occurring at the Student Recreation Center on June 6. Police were unable to connect Green to the theft despite having several witnesses who said they saw him in McKale during the time of the incident. However, an assistant football coach told police he wanted to press trespassing charges against him on behalf of the athletics department. Green was charged with second degree trespassing and transported to Pima County Jail where he was released to pre-trial services.
