University police responded to Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1420 E. Fifth St., after a report of a sick person.

When police arrived at 3:51 p.m. they met with a 17-year-old boy who said he ate a doughnut earlier and now was feeling ill. He had just recently been treated for the stomach flu, reports stated.

Tucson Fire Department arrived and checked out the male. The boy said he wanted to go to the hospital so police transported him to UMC.

University police responded to UMC after a car with an alleged shooting victim was reported seen driving in the area.

At 12:10 a.m. Tucson Police had reported multiple shots fired in the area of First Avenue and Wetmore Road and a white Oldsmobile leaving the scene.

About 12:36 a.m. university police saw about 60 people and a vehicle fitting the description parked on the sidewalk near the UMC emergency entrance.

As university police approached the male driver, the officer noticed a handgun magazine next to his right thigh, reports stated.

University police told the male to place his hands on the steering wheel but he would not comply. The officer then backed to the patrol car and drew his handgun and issued several commands before the male eventually put both hands out the driver's window, using his middle fingers to flip off the officer, reports stated.

The 21-year-old man then said, "can you see my hands now, bitch?"

The man continued to be disorderly but was finally detained in the officer's car for safety.

The man told university police he was at the shooting and his friend had been shot. He said he did not know if his friend was one of the shooters.

Police found a 9mm handgun and a rifle in his car. The man said the pistol belonged to the wounded man.

Police reported the gun smelled like it had been fired recently and had three remaining bullets in the chamber.

University police turned the man and gun over to TPD and left the scene.
