UA Women's softball squad honored with a commemorative postmark
The Tucson Post Office has created a commemorative postmark and envelope to honor the University of Arizona's softball team after they won the National Championship for the fifth time in seven years in May.The commemorative envelope features the official UA National Softball Championship logo in full-color foil, a women's softball postage stamp and the National Championship Postmark, which includes the date of the championship game, Wilbur the Wildcat and f ive softballs marking each national championship year.
Tucson Postmaster Arnold Elias presented members and coaches of the Wildcat team with the first envelope during a ceremony before the Tucson Toros baseball game, Saturday, at Hi-Corbett Field.
The envelopes are available at all Tucson area post offices for $5 each. They can also be purchased by mail for $7 by sending a check or money order to: Softball Championship Envelope, Tucson Post Office, 1501 S. Cherrybell Ave., Tucson, AZ 85726-9991.
