Monday (August 11)

The UA RSI discussion group presents "Naturally Speaking," a software demonstration by Roger Rozen of Rosewood, Inc., from noon to 1:30 p.m. in CCIT Room 337. Naturally Speaking is a software package that allows the user to speak to computers.

Tuesday (August 12)

Horticulturist Elizabeth Newton presents "Water Harvesting," at 7 p.m. in the Arizona Health Sciences Center's DuVal Auditorium. The lecture focuses on different methods to harvest and collect rainwater.

Wednesday (August 13)

The Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., presents "Reviving Summer Stressed Plants," a gardening demonstration and talk at 9 a.m.

The Honors Center and School of Music and Dance present a concert featuring student guitarists from noon to 1 p.m. in the Sloanker House, 1025 E. Second St.

The Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St., presents "Our Legacy: Reflections of Arizona Leaders," from 7 to 9 p.m. Fernando Escalante, Yaqui Tribal Vice Chairman, gives the lecture. Prices are $5 for the general public and $3 for students.

Monday (August 18)

The UA Bookstore has Back to School specials all day featured near the Mall.

Wildcat Welcome '97 kicks off from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UA Mall.

Tuesday (August 19)

Horticulturist Greg Starr presents "New and Unusual Plants for Desert Landscaping," at 7 p.m. in the Arizona Health Sciences Center's DuVal Auditorium.

Wednesday (August 20)

Panhellenic presents Sorority Rush registration information from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Mall.

The Extension Garden Center, 4210 N. Campbell Ave., presents "Dealing with Caliche and other Desert Soil Problems," a demonstration and talk at 9 a.m.

The Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St., presents "Our Legacy: Reflections of Arizona Leaders," from 7 to 9 p.m. Rep. Jim Kolbe is today's speaker. Prices are $5 for the general public and $3 for students.

Thursday (August 21)

Residence Halls open.

Friday (August 22)

Student Programs presents Wildcat Welcome from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. near the Mall area.

Saturday (August 23)

Gallagher theatre presents "Private Parts," today through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Tickets are $2.50

Sunday (August 24)

The Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St., presents the 15th annual Fiesta de San Agustin from 7 to 11 p.m. The event features art performances and a variety of Mexican/Southwestern cuisine. Free parking is available in the Main Gate Garage.
