- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre presents "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" at 7:30 and 9:20. Admission is $2.50.
- The Center for Computing and Information Technology is offering the free workshop Creating Web Pages: Beyond the Basics from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Science and Engineering Library, Room 311.
- Alison Deming, director of the Poetry Center at the UA, and Karen Brennan, director of the Creative Writing program at the University of Utha, are speaking on the subject of Teachers as Writers. They will read from their works and discuss the connection they see among their writing, teaching, reading and researching. The presentation is being held in the Modern Languages building, Room 311, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
- Public vs. private education is the topic of the debate between the Libertarian Students, the Young Democrats and the College Republicans in the Memorial Student Union, the Tucson Room, at 7 p.m. This the first of a series of debates the Libertarian Students are organizing for this semester.
- Tucson Macintosh Users Group is sponsoring a discussion on "Utilities, Keeping Your Mac Fit," in Room 8403 of the University Medical Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave. Admission is free.
- UA Business and Professional Women's organization is handing out voter registration forms outside of the Fiddlee Fig restaurant on the Memorial Student Union arcade from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Jack Sandweiss of Yale University will speak on Quark Matter - Hot and Cold in the Physics and Atmospheric Sciences building, Room 201 at 4 p.m.
- The Ramblers Hiking Club is meeting at 5 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union, Room 282
- Phi Eta Sigma is meeting in the Terrace Dining Room of the Memorial Student Union at 5 p.m.
- The American Society of Mechanical Engineering is meeting in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Lab Room 207 at 5 p.m. Pizza is being served.
