A Miami man is scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday on charges he masturbated in an airplane in full view of fellow passengers.

Raul Humberto Garcia Aroacha Shemel, 20, was arrested by the FBI after his Sept. 11 flight from Chicago to Miami, according to court papers.

Flight attendants said Shemel removed his pants and started masturbating while looking at pornographic magazines. He later urinated on the floor.

Shemel was charged with indecent exposure, committing a lewd act and disturbing the flight crew. He is undergoing a psychological evaluation.

He could face up to a year in prison, according to Wilfredo Fernandez, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office. .

L'eggs Products Inc. is saying thanks, but no thanks to Dennis Rodman. Rodman, the flamboyant rebound king of the NBA, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last week, ``I'd love to do a L'eggs commercial, where I shave my legs on screen.''

But L'eggs Products of Winston-Salem already has a spokeswoman: Jamie Lee Curtis, who is featured this month in new advertisements. A company spokeswoman quoted L'eggs President Linda Hefner as saying: ``Dennis Rodman may think he has great legs, but they really don't compare to Jamie Lee Curtis.'' .

A gay Burlington, Vermont high school sophomore suspended several times for wearing a dress, makeup and a wig to class says he has no plans to change his wardrobe.

``This is who I am,'' said 15-year-old Matt Stickney, who showed up Friday with a black top and a pink, red, and green flowered skirt. ``If they're going to kick me out every day of the week, this is going to happen every day.''

Administrators say the outfits disrupt class and therefore violate the district's dress code.

About 100 students cut class to protest the suspensions, with some boys wearing pink lipstick and girls wearing white button-down shirts and ties.

Added Lisa Martell, a 15-year-old freshman wearing a tie: ``People should wear what they want. It's not fair.''

A gay services group, Outright Vermont, criticized the suspensions.

``There are gay, lesbian, bisexual, cross-dressing young people,'' said Executive Director Karin Eade. ``For a school not to celebrate that and not to provide a safe environment for him to learn . I think is dangerous.''
