Four cars were damaged Tuesday in the Main Gate Garage, 888 N. Euclid Ave.

University police were patrolling the garage at 9:05 a.m. when they noticed a 1989 Honda Accord with a broken passenger-side window. Papers and change were scattered around the car, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

The damage was valued at $100.

On the third floor, police found a 1992 Chevy Beretta with the front passenger-side window broken and the stereo gone.

The damage was valued at $100, and the value of the stereo was unknown.

Police found two more damaged cars on the third floor.

A 1989 Jeep Wrangler had its stereo, radar detector and portable compact disc player were taken.

The stereo was valued at $200, the Bell radar detector at $120, and the Panasonic portable CD player was valued at $100.

The last car, a 1996 Honda Accord, sustained damage to the front, passenger-side door frame.

The value of the damage was unknown.


A dog was reported stolen Wednesday from the yard of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, 1550 N. Vine Ave.

A resident of the fraternity said he left his dog chained in the back yard at 8 p.m. He noticed the dog and the chain missing at 10 p.m.

The resident said his 5-month-old German shepherd had slept in the yard for several months.


An elevator was discovered vandalized just after midnight Wednesday in the Park Avenue Garage, 1140 N. Park Ave.

The exterior door of the elevator stop on the garage's lower level and the inside wall of the elevator were found written on in black marker.

Facilities Management was notified of the damage.


University police stopped a man selling jewelry Tuesday outside the UA Associated Students Bookstore, 1209 E. University Blvd.

The man was sitting west of the store at 9:37 a.m. with several pieces of jewelry laid on a towel. He told police he was not selling the items, but the man had a collection plate with him.

Police told the man he could not sell anything on campus without permission. The man packed up his wares and left.


A speaker was taken Wednesday from a vehicle parked in the UA lot at East Sixth Street and North Highland Avenue.

A male student said he parked his 1993 Jeep Wrangler with the top down about midnight. He returned at 6:30 a.m. to discover the speaker missing.

The Series One Fosgate woofer was valued at $100.


A door was damaged Wednesday in Modern Languages, 1423 E. University Blvd.

An employee said he went on break at 6 p.m. and returned at 6:15 p.m. to discover the two-foot-by-two-foot window to Room 312 knocked out.

Glass was shattered inside the room, but the cause of the damage could not be found.

The employee said he had not seen anyone suspicious in the building.

The value of the damage was not known.


A bicycle was stolen Tuesday from the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, 1550 N. Vine Ave.

The student said he secured the bicycle to itself with a U-lock and placed it behind the fraternity house at 11 p.m. He discovered the bicycle gone Wednesday at 11 a.m.

The black Diamondback mountain bicycle was valued at $500 and the U-lock at $30.


A backpack was taken Tuesday from the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house, 645 E. University Blvd.

A male student said he left his bag in the front room of the house at 5 p.m. He returned at 5:30 p.m. and discovered the bag gone.

The student told university police the front door of the house was left open. He said he did not suspect any fraternity members.

The Eddie Bauer backpack was valued at $60. The bag contained a Hewlett-Packard calculator and several textbooks. The calculator was valued at $300 and the textbooks at $150.
