Women's golf wins 1st tourney

In its first tournament of the season, the defending NCAA-champion Arizona women's golf team won the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., Saturday with a new 54-hole team score course record of 876.

The Wildcats beat second-place San Jose State by 19 strokes.

Arizona's Marisa Baena began her defense of the NCAA individual championship by posting a third-round 69 to beat Oklahoma State's Jenny Bartley by two strokes and win the individual title.

None of the Wildcats finished out of the top 25.
