Civil rights and human rights different entities

Editor:

Kendall Alexander's letter ("'Bumper-sticker' answers add nothing to the abortion debate," Sept. 26) was a typical response for an abortion-rights advocate. First call your opponent names like "simple-minded" and "moron" and imply that they are uneducated because they disagree with you. Then whine about my rights, my rights, my rights.

First of all, Ms. Alexander needs to reread both Adam's and Dewaine's letters. Then she needs to devote about four hours thinking about what they said. Adam said government is sending a mixed message and should therefore just keep abortion legal. Dewaine said (duh!) that this is how it works because the government represents more than one viewpoint.

Second, Ms. Alexander has a very dangerous idea that all her rights are human rights. An almost completely developed unborn baby has (not) a human right to not have its brain sucked out. A woman has a legal civil right to have it's life terminated. You decide which is more important.

Finally, I'd like to make a suggestion to both abortion advocates an foes alike. Before you write an off the handle reply to these editorials and letters, read them and think about what's really being said. Then, instead of just rambling on, think about what you are going to say.
