CLEVELAND - Former Arizona guard Reggie Geary yesterday signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers who also gave up rights to guard Darryl Johnson.

Terms of Geary's deal weren't disclosed.

Geary was selected in the second round, the 56th overall selection, in the June NBA draft. As a senior at Arizona, Geary averaged 9.8 points and seven assists. He set an Arizona career record with 208 steals.

''We feel that Reggie will add depth to our backcourt and we are looking forward to his contributions,'' Cavaliers general manager Wayne Embry said.

Johnson signed with the Cavaliers in March. He played 28 minutes in 11 games.
