Police Beat column makes light of serious incidents on campus

Editor:

This is a letter of disappointment in your publication. Your Sept. 25 Police Beat column reported an "apparent dog attack" on a female student, however it failed to mention that this was a disabled female student. Also, for the record, she has been attacked five times in four weeks, three times with her service dog and twice without. To make matters worse, her service dog has been made unusable as a result of these attacks.

It saddens me that such a serious report has been taken so lightly by this publication and this university. I hope someone doesn't have to be mauled before any action is taken. Perhaps next time a story should be done on UAPD's failure to act and failure to enforce the laws.
