Sophomore Amy Skieresz took home her third individual title of the year and junior Bob Keino took fifth on the men's side at the Fifth Murray Keatings Invitational in Orono, Maine this weekend.Skieresz set a new course record with a time of 16 minutes, 33 seconds. She took the lead in the first 100 meters, and continued to distance herself from the rest of the pack for the entire race. Skieresz was 46 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Mary Cobb of Stanford.
Sophomore Emily Nay was fourth with a time of 17:27; senior Viola Schaffer, 11th, 17:55; freshman Kristen Parrish, 12th, 17:56; junior Virginia Camacho, 14th, 18:02; junior Tone Bratteng, 24th, 18:27; and junior Kelly Chavez, 32nd, 18:37.
No. 3 Stanford won with 31 points. Arizona, the 11th-ranked team, was 11 points behind with a score of 42.
The men took seventh with a score of 180. No. 3 Stanford took home the men's title with 29 points.
Bob Keino placed fifth with a time of 24:05. Senior Jon Pillow took 32nd in 25:15; freshman Micheil Jones, 34th, 25:17; junior Chad Wenger, 49th, 25:42; sophomore Jeff McLarty, 78th, 26:48; freshman Jeremy Lyon, 84th, 27:02; and senior Luther Kopf, 106th, 28:04.
