- Speaking about Writing: a series of roundtable's presents "Writing for Film and Television", in the Modern Languages building room 311 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The roundtable's are organized for and by students to discuss reading, writing and researching about different topics.
- The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop on how to Create Your Own Homepage in the Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from 10 a.m. until noon.
The workshop includes learning how to use the Hypertext Mark Up Language to create a homepage. Participants should be familiar with the Windows program.
- The Diabetes Support Group meets at the University Medical Center on the second floor of the cafeteria dinning room C from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.
This is a new group organized by a UA student and a nurse practitioner is an effort to bring people with diabetes together.
- The Physics Department presents Elliott Chue, of the UA, speaking on "The Search for Direct CP Violation," in the Physics and Atmospheric Science building Room 201 at 4 p.m.
The colloquium will discuss the current status of CP violation measurements and describe an experiment designed to search for direct CP violation. The CP violation is necessary to explain the matter of dominance in the universe.
- The UA Poetry Center presents Marilyn Chin reading at 8 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium.
She is the author of The Phoenix Gone, The Terrace Empty and Dwarf Bamboo. A question and answer forum will follow the reading.
- The Memorial Students Union's Gallagher Theatre shows "The Nutty Professor" at 9:35 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
Of the 34,777 students enrolled at the UA, during the 1995-96 academic school year, two were from Arkansas, three were from North Dakota and 30 were from Idaho. Arizona was the biggest contributor of students with 25,025 enrolled at the UA.
