New Mexico's club lacrosse team decided not to make the trip, so the Laxcats will have to play themselves Saturday.

The Arizona Laxcats will hold their Red-Blue game at noon at Wildcat Field.

"We want to continue working as a team, having players get to know each other on the field," head coach Mickey-Miles Felton said.

Felton said he will divide the team up equally in order to avoid a lopsided score.

"I might put the starting offense up against the starting defense in the first half and mix it around a little in the second half," Felton said.

The Red-Blue game will follow the traditional lacrosse format, with play divided into four quarters. Felton said he would not allow man-up or man-down penalty situations, however.

Felton said the Red-Blue game will likely be a more competitive matchup than a game against the Lobos might have been.

"We played them last year and things didn't go their way," Felton said.

Felton said he is happy the Laxcats will still play on the UA's Family Weekend.

"It's Family Weekend, and we want to get the guys playing in front of their moms and dads," Felton said. "It will get the parents enthusiastic about the program."
