- The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop, "Orientation to Computing Resources," in CCIT Room 311 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The workshop will discuss computing resources on campus and how to access them.
CCIT also offers a free workshop on how to use Sabio, the library information system, and journal databases in the Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
- The Undergraduate Society of Criminal Justice Studies presents "Stop Crime Before It Starts" in McClelland Hall Room 128 at 7 p.m.
An officer from the Tucson Police Department will discuss crime prevention and enforcement strategies for both the TPD and the community policing program.
- The UA Composition Program, the Department of English and the UA Library hosts "Science: Its Methods and Its Critics" is part of a series of roundtable discussions by and for students in Modern Languages Room 311 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The series is designed to involve undergraduate students in campus research and to help them see the integration of reading, writing and research as an ongoing process.
The discussion will try to answer the following questions: What, if any, are the responsibilities of science toward society and the environment? Who decides?
- The American Red Cross accepts blood donations on the UA Mall from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre shows "The Island of Dr. Moreau" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:25 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
In 1995-96, there were 42 students from Bob Dole's home state of Kansas at the UA, compared to two from Arkansas, the home of President Clinton.
