Well, Fife (Symington) does it again. He claims that he has the legal authority to veto propositions that were overwhelmingly approved be the voters who actually performed their civic duty since these voters didn't constitute 50 percent of all registered voters regardless of whether or not they voted. If this is true, this law needs to be struck immediately. If one doesn't vote they give up their voice in that election by default.
Even if this law does give Fife the legal right to do this, there are many antiquated laws on the books in states throughout the country which if used would be seen as nothing short of ridiculous. This present example isn't ridiculous, but a frightening travesty. If our governor refuses to recognize the mandates of the voters of this state, Arizona becomes a dictatorship and not a democracy.
Shame on Fife, whom I refuse to address as governor. This rebel is not representing the people of Arizona; he is attempting to oppress us with a blatant disregard of his constituents.
