- The UA Library offers a free workshop on an introduction to the Internet in Room A315 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
- The Brown Bag Lecture Series presents Raquel Rubio-Goldsmith of Pima Community College, speaking on "The Chiapas Update: Proposals from Zapatista Women," in the Social Science building Room 332 from noon until 12:50.
- The Committee on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Studies and the Department of Anthropology presents Ellen Lewin speaking on "Queering Matrimony? The Rise of Lesbian and Gay families," in the Anthropology building Room 216 at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, the Libertarian Students present Vin Suprynowicz speaking on "Jury Stacking the Second Amendment, and the Future of Freedom," in the Memorial Student Union's Tucson Room at 5:30 p.m.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre shows "Independence Day" today through Tuesday at 7:30 p.m and 10:45 p.m. "Goonies" is showing today at midnight. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
In 1992-93 the University of Arizona Library had the 21st largest college library in the US. The total number of volumes was 4,018,071. Yet that was still small compared to the 12,605,537 volumes at the library at Harvard.
