The Arizona gymnastics team once again dipped into the pool of talent at the Parkettes National Training Center in Allentown, Pa., to sign three gymnasts to letters of intent.

Parkettes is the home gym of current UA sophomores Maureen Kealy and Kristin McDermott.

Kara Fry, Nicole Filcher and Heather Straccia signed with the Wildcats last week.

"We feel this group of recruits is exceptional and will fit in well with the nucleus of our team," UA head coach Jim Gault said. "With this group, we are taking another giant step forward. We are very positive about these three gymnasts and we're really excited about the future."

Fry currently competes at the International Elite level and has made appearances at the World Championships and this year's U.S. National Championships, where she finished 12th.

Both Filchner and Straccia compete at Level 10. Filchner was the regional uneven bars champion at the Junior Olympic Nationals. Straccia was the Level 10 alternate for the 1995 U.S. National Championships team.
